    There is a good chance that Russia did shoot that plane down accidentally. The plane was headed for Russia but the airport was closed due to fog and Ukrainian drones in the area. It is possible they were trying to shoot down drones and took down the plane.

      Thing about using a weapon powerful enough to bring down a modern jetliner is the cost to reward when used against a drone. What is the heat signature, and the radar cross section of a battery powered drone, or even the small 2 stroke powered drones, compared to a jetliner?

      Russia knows it can down civilian aircraft with no recompense to their actions. It has been shown enough times in the past.

      So the big question is, "Who was on that plane that Putin wanted to eliminate?"

    Ukrainian drone are usual small light aircraft converted to pilotless operating. This is a 100 seat airliner .The heat and radar signature of a Ukrainian drone is small ,A Emb 190 jet would have had a large heat and radar signature.
    But this may give the Ukrainian's a idea for the future you buy a old airliner convert it for pilotless operations fill it full of explosives and send it to a Russian oil refinery or important factory.....

    The British armed forces used the .303 because there were millions of weapons in storage and for the when they brought new weapons like the BREN GUN and the Browning machine gun they chose to keep the .303 round so you had a common suppy chain for manufacture and issue to the 3 service's.
    The issue was stand 32 round boxes for the Bren gun and ready belted machine guns and clips of 5 rounds rifles.But any way of storage could be used in any weapon.I have spent some time clipping Bren ammo into 5 round clips for rifles.

I have a nice collection of olde Enfields, No1 Mk IIIs, No4 Mk1s both and even a genuine "T" model in it's shipping box, with scope box, leather lens covers, scope and American shooters sling. Have Canadian, English "motorcycle brand: made guns and Indian and a sporterized hunting rifle. And P14s and the American rendition of the P14, the 1917 Enfield but in 30-06.

    The Enfield Mk 4 was use a Air cadet weapon in the UK as a fireing weapon and ceremonial weapon till the 1990's when it was replaced by a single shot version of the SA80 .We had 12 of them 2 with US property stamped on the rifle. I presume that there were lend lease rifles made in the US .2 of the bolts did not the the UK rifles very well but fitted the US ones.
