The way it's gonna work is that you can send me a PM with a verification picture. The picture has to contain you and forum name on piece of paper or on your body and your username or my username instead of the website name, if you prefer that.

    Hello everyone.

I've had something on my mind of late, where I would really like other people's sincere input with their interpretations of their own experiences.

So I'm someone who regularly remembers their dreams (lucid dreamer), and at least once a week will experience a sexual dream of some form, no matter what my day to day living brings me (whether having regular sex or not). Initially my first experiences of sexual dreams (or wet dreams I guess you'd say), were from my own perspective as a female, and ordinarily quite submissive.

But as the years have gone on, I've started experiencing dreams from the perspective as still myself, but as a man (with a woman), and usually quite dominant in the scenarios. Rarely will I now experience same sex dreams, or heterosexual dreams as my own gender. I don't feel dreams have meanings or anything like that, just that they're your subconscious/conscious at play.

I've been wondering what this has to do with in regards to my own behaviours/personality. It could be a number of things:

    - Does this have to do with the kind of porn I watch? (Man dominating female usually, not extreme but definite male dominance perspective and I'm remembering this in my dreams)

    - Does it have to do with a change in my sexual realizations? (Initially felt I was only attracted to men, as got older it became predominantly females)

    - Or does it have to do with having some frustrations that I can't experience same gender sex in the same way hetero sex works? (Meaning the act of straight sex with insertion of something is experienced physically by myself, and the male, simultaneously, as opposed to a female with her hands or mouth, whereby the experience isn't totally mutual in regards to genital stimulation, specific to that scenario)

Or am I just reading too far into it? I don't experience any form of gender identity disconnect, and am happy with how I was born.

I'm not sure, I suppose my question for people to answer is this:

Have you ever experienced this changing of gender in a wet dream? If so, do you feel it relates to anything in your subconscious desires, or it simply "just happens"?

There is already a thread on dreams.

Yes but is it relative to gender perspective? Or just dreams? I feel it's the latter, hence - the new thread.

Im not a psychologist so I cant tell you what this means or what triggers may have kicked these dreams off. I can tell you that I think it is fascinating and providing you are happy and balanced in both your dream state and waking state there is nothing to worry about.

I would say it is amazing that you can dream like this.

When I dream sexually it tends to involve other people rather than my partner but there are probably obvious reasons for this.

I have had one or two sexual dreams which were profoundly unsettling, not in their content but the way I felt afterwards ( it was very much like it had actually happened ) and took some days to come to terms with... I dont know it is weird but it didnt feel like a dream so I dont know what to make of it

Thank you for your reply Rothko - and yes it's hard to give any sort of analysis on my personal questions, guess I was just fishing for people to throw ideas about.

Would you say your dreams are manifestations of your own desires? So, if they're of other people outside of your partner - do you think you have a desire to experience sex with others outside of your relationship as a conscious thought? In regards to the unsettling dream it sounds like you might of had a lucid dream, so it felt more real to you. The mind is certainly a very interesting and complex organ!

without a doubt they are manifestations of my desires. I dont have sex with my wife so probably not a surprise and certainly I would like to experience sex with others as to lucid dreams, I dont know, It felt more parallel universe than anything( Thats going to make sound like a cracked pot )

I can't remember ever having dreams on sex change or transgender. What I do know that when I'm in a horny mood and keep on having watching porn and having myself horny without a release (a great feeling!) I have sexual dreams. Some are recurring, like the ones where I find out it's actually pretty easy to suck my own dick, and wonder why I never had found out before.

My recurring dreams come and go. Have had frequent dreams on being able to fly but they seem to have gone. I think it's something that's very deep in your brain, and needs to be processed again and again. Explanation of dreams is a tricky path of science though.

Just enjoy the dreams you remember in daytime. I do.

Dreams happen in what I feel is one of three ways some thing we desire, something we are afraid of, or something we have experienced. Granted this is not a catch all for every thing. I am sure there are other reasons but my experiences they usually relate to one these. A possibility is that you are watching a lot of dominant porn that is simular to your dreams. And you desire that role in the porn with your partner.

Granted im no therapist or psychologist but may be that helps.

I agree, dreams are conscious or unconscious feelings/thoughts/fears or experiences that come together in often strange ways. I'm a mild dominant in my actual sex life (nothing too extreme, just the initiator) but I suppose my regular exposure to such sex acts through watching porn could be staying in my minds eye.

It's just very interesting how it relates back.

We all dream crazy shit. When I dream about having sex, perverted or sensuous, I never try to figure them out. The only thing I have been trying to figure out, is why the fuck do I always wake up at the peak moment and can't get back to sleep ? It's so frustrating never getting to finish the dream. Now I know how my wife must feel after we have sex.

    1. archetype_x
Haha thanks for the comment, yeah I often just brush dreams off as I know it's just memories/thoughts or feelings about things manifesting in a "tangible" experience as you sleep, but this one in particular sort of confused me a little just because anyone I've asked in person has never said they've experienced this also.

@archetype_x It sounds as if in your dream your playing a role unlike your actual self which is quite common and if your acting it out as a man, I would fathom to say it's clearly one in which your imagining how the "other half lives." Just as a man may wonder if he had bi sexual tendencies what are the feelings a woman who has sex with men might experience, stepping outside our machismo role for that moment. While it's not necessary to "act out" in real life the assumed roles of a man to like women or a woman to like men, our minds find comfort in letting down that boundary from a fantasy perspective which I believe opens us up to better understanding of our "straight" selves. That not every thing is as black and white as we've been programmed to believe, even biologically we are all made up of estrogen and testosterone and in reality many times we don't get enough chances to express them both due to societal pressure.

    1. archetype_x
I totally agree, and although I believe in my waking life dominance and male, and submissive and female aren't mutually exclusive as I know that life isn't black and white and people are a mix, it's just interesting that when I dream in such a way as a man - I am often kind of an asshole and just "take what I want" without it being too extreme. I suppose I become the negative stereotype of what one might imagine as the "jock dude".

Which is just strange, because I don't desire that consciously, but whenever I'm "myself" (same gender) in my dreams, it's always much more mutual and hardly as aggressive. And I'm neither someone who pretends to fit into a mould, so I feel - I'm a female, but I'll happily wear male clothing on one day (suit/shirt, look quite boyish), but a dress the next.

why would you be concerned about your dreams if indeed * you don't feel they have meaning ?* I however am superstitious .

What I meant was I don't believe dreams have some sort of cosmic meaning, in regards to being superstitious specifically. For example, some people say "if you dream this", that means that something is going to happen in your life - as if your dreams and some kind of supernatural are intertwined - which I don't believe.

When I'm questioning dreams, I mean to question my own psyche, as a kind of philosophical or psycho-analogous perspective. I hope that makes more sense, sorry should've stated that in OP.

Lucid dreaming and remembering what you were dreaming are very different. Most people dream in black and white, so it's more difficult to recall things. Vivid dreams are easier to remember.

A lucid dreamer is aware he is dreaming. And can sometimes control things in the dream.

What you're brain is stimulated with before sleep usually rolls over into your dreamworld. If you're watching the kind of videos you like and fall asleep soon after, it's probably that.

I think most of us have wondered what it's like to have sex as the opposite gender. I've always wondered what the female orgasm was like. At least the full body ones, and the multiples.

That's a fair point, but I'll have these dreams even without that. Also far as I can remember, all my dreams are in colour, and almost always involve all or most senses (hearing/touch/taste, etc), and vary in lucidity. So, for example, I'll be aware I'm in a dream, but not able to control it as such. Whereas other times I'll physically be able to change the path of the dream. Sometimes I'll remember the dream but not have control. These sorts of gender changing dreams are almost always the former, where it seems to be a mixture of my subconscious and conscious at play.

But I suppose you're right, I think it just comes down to a curiosity, I was mainly just wondering as I'd never heard other people to experience it.

I have. I guess it's because of my affinity to use strap ons. I used to use prescription sleep aids and anxiety meds during the holidays (bad time for me). Those often gave me bizarre dreams while using them.

There is a lot of study on dreams, and a lot of disagreement about what dreams "mean" - if anything. We are excellent rationalizing machines, and I believe we do the same with dreaming. Something happens, our brain does all kinds of work below our surface of awareness about what the event means to us, then our front brain makes up a story about the whole thing that "makes sense" based on our current set of prisms. But, what is most important is what you DO when you're awake, conscious and intent. Make your dreams mean exactly what you want them to according to your authentic self, and you'll be just fine. Good Luck.

I rarely dream and even rarer are they sexual dreams I do however fantasise during the day sometimes. once or twice it has got so intense my partner didnt know what hit him when he came home. Once when I was away for work I skipped the last session of the day and went to my hotel room it was fairly fast and intense

I used to (and actually still have) weird dreams now and then but NEVER had any sex related dream. A couple of years ago I did try to find out more about my dreams but the only conclusion I found was that I have a very lively imagination, big surprise lol, mixed with random things I experienced during the day or recent time. So basically they just didn't mean anything.

I'd say your dreams don't mean a thing if you don't feel the same irl, in my 'experience' they can be confusing but can be ignored altogether though. Maybe this doesn't apply to everyone but still, anything related to something like dreams coming true or them having a real meaning is just coincidence as far as I know or something that has already been someone's thought while being conscious.

I have always thought that dreams were just your subconcious mind sorting out what that day had brought and then saying " What if I " and expanding on the themes. Don't worry about it, just enjoy and think yourself lucky that you don't get the night terrors like me. My bad dreams make horror films very tame and insipid.
