Everything leaving Netflix in April 2025

Andrew Barth Feldman and Jennifer Lawrence in No Hard Feelings.
Sony Pictures

Seasons change, and so do the movies and TV shows on Netflix. It’s an inevitable part of life in the streaming age. This month also serves as a reminder that Sony gave Netflix an 18-month window for many of its newer films, including No Hard Feelings. But as of April, that film’s first window of availability is coming to a close. Next stop: Hulu.

No one can say that Jennifer Lawrence held back in No Hard Feelings, a film in which she wasn’t afraid to make herself look silly even during a botched skinny dipping. Lawrence plays Maddie Barker, a woman in her thirties who is barely surviving as a ride-share driver. When Maddie is about to lose her car, she answers a very unusual ad from Laird (Matthew Broderick) and Allison Becker (Laura Benanti).

The Beckers have a son, Percy Becker (Andrew Barth Feldman), who has never really had a girlfriend or a chance to come out of his shell. And they’re willing to pay Maddie handsomely to date their socially awkward son and give him some confidence before he attends college. Unfortunately for Maddie, Percy is so clueless that he doesn’t initially realize she’s hitting on him. She really has to go the extra mile to win him over, and he doesn’t respond to her affections in the way that his parents hoped for.

3 underrated shows on Netflix you need to watch in March 2025
Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in a blue suit wearing sunglasses with two men on either side in a scene from Ballers.

Netflix has some potential hits on tap this month. The streamer is letting John Mulaney host a late-night show, Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney. The comedian had a successful tryout last year with John Mulaney Presents: Everybody's in LA. Super producer Shonda Rhimes is back with her latest show, The Residence, a whodunit set in the White House. When Rhimes puts a show on Netflix, it becomes a hit, i.e., Bridgerton.
March's new shows will be all over the most popular list. Below are three underrated shows to stream in March. Our picks include a prison thriller, a teen sitcom, and a sports drama.
We also have guides to the best movies on Netflix, the best movies on Hulu, the best movies on Amazon Prime Video, the best movies on Max, and the best movies on Disney+.
Prison Break (2005-2017)
Prison Break - Season 1 Trailer
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to guess the plot of a show named Prison Break. There's an escape attempt from jail, but the details before and after the break make this crime drama extremely entertaining. After being wrongfully accused of murder, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) is sent to Death Row. Lincoln's brother, Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), devises a plan to save his brother.
Michael's plan does not involve the legal system. Michael commits a crime and gets incarcerated at the same prison as Lincoln. With the two brothers under the same roof, they plan their escape. The more the brothers explore the case, the more they learn about the conspiracy to frame Lincoln. With a Prison Break reboot set in the same universe in development, there's no better time to start a rewatch than now.
Watch Prison Break on Netflix.
Ballers (2015-2019)
Ballers: Season 1 | Mid-Season Official Extended Trailer | HBO

Once "Kane is in the building" from Lil Wayne's Right Above It hit your ears, it was time for Ballers, a sports drama that ran for five seasons on HBO. Dwayne Johnson stars as Spencer Strasmore, a former NFL player forced into an early retirement due to an injury. Needing a second act, Spencer begins working as a financial manager for current NFL players.

The best new shows to stream on Netflix, Hulu, Max (HBO), and more
Kevin Bacon in The Bondsman.

As much as some streamers have gone away from the binge model, every episode dropping on the same day still happens outside of Netflix. This week, Amazon Prime debuted all eight episodes of The Bondsman, a new series starring Kevin Bacon as a kind of supernatural Jack Reacher who hunts down demons. Somehow, we suspect this show will get an early renewal.
Netflix's pick of the week, Devil May Cry, is also about a demon hunter, but the tone of the series is even more over-the-top and comedic than The Bondsman. But as a weekend double feature, they make a good pair. When you're done with those shows, you can check out Seth Rogen's The Studio on Apple TV+ or Bosch: Legacy season 3 on Prime Video.
You can find the rest of the best new shows to stream below. We update this list every Friday to keep you up to date on the most binge-worthy new additions.
When you're done here, check out the best new movies to stream this week, as well as the best shows on Netflix, the best shows on Hulu, the best new shows on Max, the best shows on Amazon Prime Video, and the best shows on Disney+.

Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Max, Disney+, Paramount+, Peacock, and Apple TV+ all have one thing in common: They're more expensive than they used to be. We can live with higher rates as long as new shows keep coming, but it's always a good idea to consider signing up for the ad-supported tiers, which are worth it if you can sit through a few commercials.

Harrison Ford points a gun and stares.

March brings the arrival of the latest movie from the Russo Brothers, The Electric State. Millie Bobby Brown and Chris Pratt star in a robot adventure spanning across a retrofuturistic America. While the film has received negative reviews, expect The Electric State to become one of the most popular movies on Netflix upon its arrival on March 14.
The Electric State is not the only sci-fi movie on the service. Below are our five selections for sci-fi movies to watch on Netflix. Our picks include a Power Rangers reboot, a famous director's cut, and a space thriller.

Power Rangers (2017)

These teenage superheroes have been saving the day for over 30 years. In 2017, Power Rangers served as a mini-reboot of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. In Angel Grove, star athlete Jason Scott (Dacre Montgomery) is kicked off the football team after a prank goes south. While in detention, Jason meets Billy Cranston (RJ Cyler) and Kimberly Hart (Naomi Scott).
The trio heads to the nearby gold mine, where they run into Trini Kwan (Becky G) and Zack Taylor (Ludi Lin). An explosion in the mine reveals Power Coins, which all five teens take. The next day, the coins give the teens superhuman powers. With the help of Alpha 5 (Bill Hader) and Zordon (Bryan Cranston), the quartet forms the Power Rangers, a superhero group who must save the planet from Rita Repulsa (Elizabeth Banks). Go go Power Rangers!
